A little about Me!
Hi, my name is Tammy Dalton, and I am proud to be the Founder and CEO of Adorable Essentials. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be running a large on-line retailer, but here I am… As I look back, I am so thankful for the many blessings that got me here, and I can't believe how far we have come, and how far we have yet to go! Let me share with you how it all started…
Ever since I met my husband on the Internet, building an on-line store has been a joke with our friends. I married my husband Josh in March 2007 and we welcomed our son Gideon in June 2008. Two years later, we welcomed our daughter Sylvia into the world.
When Sylvie was 18 months old, the company I worked for closed its doors. I went from working full-time to staying at home and, of course, shopping. My husband jokingly said if I was going to spend it I needed to make it! So, I started dressing my daughter in brands that I loved which had strong resale value. I became friends with many social media moms doing the same thing – looking for children’s clothes with great value.
Like most moms, I loved the boutique brands like Matilda Jane, Eleanor Rose and specialty stores. However, the one frustration I constantly had was finding matching essentials. While prints and patterns are great, you sometimes just need a basic essential. After searching for over year, I started getting frustrated... and as much I loved shopping, selling was a dear love of mine too. By now, I had earned the title of EBay Power Seller, and was a Craigslist expert... so I asked myself why not I take it to the next level? At that moment, I decided to launch Adorable Essentials!
After a ton of research and many design iterations I was confident I was ready to produce my first line with the goal of providing everyday essentials that didn’t have to be boring. Essentials that are “adorable” and work with today’s modern lifestyle.
Did I make mistakes? Plenty! Were some of my samples horrible? Of course... Did we have to work non-stop, packing late at night in the basement after the kids were in bed? Yes! But it was so worth it.
Fast forward to today, and 2017 is a year of growth for Adorable Essentials. As our children grow, we grow. As our customers evolve, we evolve. Our goal is to bring you new designs, new patterns, and new collections that will still give you those necessary essentials, but of course, also be adorable. I want Adorable Essentials to grow and expand in areas that you will come to love as much as I do. So, look forward to the future, because this momma's back in the shopping mood!
